I am very confused at how to work this website. I have used Reddit and The Student Room before and both have notifications and some form up upvotes. Why dont I get notifications when someone tags my username? And are there no upvotes here?

Lots of forums don't have upvotes.

You can search for site issues such as how to do notifications.

No "likes" or "upvotes" here

You need to go into Customise and check the box for receiving notifications when you are tagged with @
It's not automatic as many people don't want notifications every other minute.

Right, you could go into mumsnet stuff and post your queries directly to them - might take a little while to get a response though

It's fairly quiet on here this time of night, you'll get more responses in the morning.

This website is much easier to navigate than Reddit, I can't make head nor tail of that.

There's no likes or upvotes on MN, thank God. It's a Chat site, we're supposed to use our words, you know, talk to each other.

I switched off notifications, I don't want them. They are easy enough to reactivate though, in Customise.
