Are the bbc sacking Paul Merton & Ian Hislop?

Dh has heard a rumour.

Would be sacrilege and too awful for words! They’re the only funny thing on the beeb (and they’re really funny)

Haven’t seen anything, I’ll see if there’s anything in their website.

Whilst I like them very much, it’s a bit much to have two white men, always as team leaders. I’d prefer at least one woman there.

He saw it on YouTube. He doesn’t even watch it but he knows I like it.

Surely that would be a decision for the production company (Hattrick)?

Sacking them or cancelling HIGNFY?

Actually I do think the programme is very tired and no longer particularly funny.

HIGNFY has been a bit shit for a while

Ian Hislop in particular is a bit smug and preachy and not funny anymore

I have always enjoyed it but it has started to feel dated.

Sacking isn't the same as no longer planning a next series.

It's rubbish, playground humour.

They're employed by Hat Trick surely, so they can't be sacked by the BBC? And I can't for a second imagine Hat Trick sacking them. Ian and Paul are the show, they've been there since day one and the ratings are still good.

I've always thought if one of them gets tired of the show and decides to leave, then they'll probably step down together. Hopefully that's a long way in the future though, as I love them both on HIGNFY.
