met somebody else's and you have an overwhelming feeling you can't really express.
It's certainly not a sexual feeling, not electric as such but can take your breath away, unnerve you a bit, especially if you have a feeling to look up, or towards them.
They look similar as though whatever it is they are experiencing it too?

Yes it has happened. I can remember a couple of times, years ago.

I think I get what you're saying. What I would call a 'heart fell out of my arse' feeling. Not necessarily a bad feeling, just that sudden rush of emotions, and this has definitely happened when meeting a strangers eyes.

WishingOnACarrot · 05/10/2020 18:51

Yes, it's happened to me. Very hard to explain and I saw something "change" in the other person's eyes too. Then we both looked away. Both married - to other people. Really not a path to go down, I've tried to put it out of my mind, but yes I think I know exactly what you mean.

Yeah. And quite a few times it lead to me kidding myself that person was right for me. And I was invariably wrong. But who's not made bad choices.

Happened to me in Costco of all places, felt the need to look over and a man turned at the same time, held eye contact and it was unnerving in that it felt like there was an attraction but more like a connection. Weird in that I can still remember it and it took a while to get it out of my mind.

Might have happened other times but that’s the strongest one I can remember.

Happened when I met now DH. Like something in our chests went click. Felt like "oh, it's YOU, there you are"

WishingOnACarrot · 05/10/2020 20:03

Why do you ask OP?

Devlesko · 05/10/2020 20:40

It's happened to me just twice in my adult life, not saying the two are connected.
But the first one, I was paying for a card in a shop and looked through the very large window just at the same time as a man looked at me.
He was an older Eastern European man, I was about 26.
It was more a fear a recognition of both feeling something.
I have found out recently I have lots of Eastern European ancestors and distant cousins. But nothing else.

The second time was with a musician colleague of my dh, but we didn't know each other at the time.
That same look of connection, somehow.

My dh said it was just me and it was weird, so thought I'd check it out. My family do wind me up as I'm Romany, they just say weird gypsy stuff. Grin They aren't mean, I take it in good faith, rotten buggers.

Bessie
That's it, exactly. I didn't fancy either of them, not at all.
