Cross with DH ...

I need to be healthier. DH knows this. Lots of talk about how hard I find thinking about food etc. I made yummy beetroot humous in bulk - enough for a few lunches.

Went to the fridge today and DH has eaten it all, AND left the empty jar back in the fridge. Not at mealtimes - he has been snacking on it in between meals.

Lunch plans derailed. I am so fucking cross. He does this all the time - eat the contents of the fridge between meals - and I'm sick of it.

Do you do meal planning? We do it a lot more now that we're spending so much time at home, and it's stopped this sort of thing from happening. We sit down and have a meeting about which ingredients are for which meals etc so it stops us from casually eating something that was needed for a specific meal.

Did he know that you had made it for lunches? If so, he's a selfish arse.

smellycats · 05/10/2020 14:14

He knew. When I made it I showed him how much I had left for next meals. I was pleased to get ahead.

I've not said anything to him because I'm surprised how incredibly cross I am over something seemingly trivial. But it took a while to make (roasting the beetroot in advance) and there was a LOT.

Meal planning is the thing I really struggle with. I don't think it would make a difference though.

I'd tell him he needs to make you some more.

Want to swap husbands? My DH crime is what he puts IN the fridge. Fat cherry scones, clotted cream, posh jam and pork pies.

I might. When I feel I can talk to him without killing him.

Instead of humous and veg for lunch, which I was looking forward to, I had three chocolate digestives and four chocolate chip cookies and a cup of tea.

In my anger I swivelled straight to the pantry and the junk.

I'm cross about that too.

Also, just to add, the humous wasn't just for me. I made it for lunches for both of us.

He’d have been kebabed for putting the empty jar back in the fridge alone - never mind troughing my lunch.

He can roll up his sleeves and make you more.

Get him telt.
