I need to measure out 5 mls in liquid precisely so thought I'd drag out my unused ivf syringes. Trouble is they read In UI ??!!

How do I know what 5 mls is??

May not be helpful, but do you not have a calpol syringe or even a cough syrup spoon to hand? Both handy for 5ml

I think it's substance dependent, so you'd need to know what it was used for. I know they use iu for vitamins.
What is it for? Can you weigh it?

Whoopsmahoot · 04/10/2020 21:15

A teaspoon is considered about 5 mls, measure that with your syringe.

There are conversion tables which should help if you Google it.

As pp said IU is dependent on the substance being measured, so syringes have to be used with the drug they are supplied with. I don't think you would be able to work out a ml equivalent.
Do you have any calpol spoons or syringes in the house?

Yip can't use units to measure mls
