Can gameshows use actors?

Is it something gameshows do or is it a bih no, no?

I'd imagine they'd need to state they were using actors if that was the case though?

Wish they'd stop using the likes of Danny Dyer and Gino fgs there must be new presenters coming through that can do it. As bad as Rylan and Philip being everywhere.. Though I do love The Cube. Gino sounds a lot more Italian than he used

Do you mean as contestants? Sure an actor could apply to go on a show as a contestant, but they wouldn't be acting as a contestant IYSWIM?

I was on The Chase with a guy who was an actor as his day job. But he was there as a contestant, not an actor pretending to be one - if you see what I mean.

There are regulations that require game shows to be honest, basically. These were introduced after a number of scandals, mainly in the USA, with gameshows being rigged and contestants being given answers, that kind of thing.

Until 1993 prize values were capped too. That's why the prizes on old game shows are sometimes kind of rubbish - it was literally against the law to give better ones.

I'm not sure what exactly makes a show fall under such regulations. Comedy panel shows appear to be exempt; it was stated an unidentified QI contestant insisted on having the answers in advance.

There were a few on the first episodes of the new Supermarket Sweep. Twins I think. Probably try and use the experience as a step up the ladder.
