One of the 2x4 ones... how difficult can it be? I've built small tables and bookcases before.

I built the old version with no problems, built bigger ones as well!

TeenPlusTwenties · 03/10/2020 14:52

I would say yes, though DH and I did our 3x4 one together.
We work remarkably well together on flatpack furniture.

Sheepareawesome · 03/10/2020 14:52

I managed a double pax wardrobe with glass sliding doors. You will be fine!

StylishLikeEleanor · 03/10/2020 14:54

Yes! I can do it too then. I will be confident!

Yea, definitely. I have built several 4x4 ones alone!

KindKylie · 03/10/2020 14:55

I'm rubbish at DIY but I can do kallax!

Oodlesofnoodles20 · 03/10/2020 14:55

God yeah, it’s simple Smile

gavisconismyfriend · 03/10/2020 14:58

Yes absolutely! But electric screwdriver makes all the difference, particularly if you’re putting doors on any of it - they were a pain!

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 03/10/2020 15:00

IKEA flat packs are a piece of cake. The only time I’ve needed another pair of hands has been for big things like wardrobes.

orangenasturtium · 03/10/2020 15:00

They are very simple to put together. The only issue with doing it alone is sometimes you need one person to hold a large, heavy piece in place while the other person is screwing it together. The instruction manual will say if it requires 2 people.

bumblingbovine49 · 03/10/2020 15:01

I am terrible at DIY , really terrible and paid someone to put up our Ikea wall mounted cupboards and wardrobes and all our window blinds but I did all our Kallax units. They are pretty easy really

SnugglySnerd · 03/10/2020 15:01

They are really easy - my 3 yo helped screw ours together with the Allen key!

StylishLikeEleanor · 03/10/2020 15:01

I am putting doors on (hopefully!). Where did you get your electric screwdriver? Amazon? I've taken Monday off work to get the house sorted.

Wobbitcatcher · 03/10/2020 15:01

Yep I built one at about 30 weeks pregnant, it was fine!

bumblingbovine49 · 03/10/2020 15:02

Definitely yes to using a electric screwdriver though

gavisconismyfriend · 04/10/2020 23:42

Cordless screwdrivers - think mine came from Homebase, but just looked on Amazon and they have plenty there too

Babyshine2020 · 04/10/2020 23:56

I built it at 8 months pregnant, you'll be fine!

My 10 year old has built several. Why wouldn’t you be able to?
Itisbetter · 05/10/2020 00:02

Yes, very straightforward. Big space, radio on, cold drink and an electric screwdriver. I enjoy itBlush

Goingtogetflamed · 05/10/2020 00:05

I built a 2 x 8 with doors and drawers. You’ll be fine.

Do they make a 2x8?!
FallonsTeaRoom · 05/10/2020 08:26

Yes they make a 2x8. I've just ordered one.
