Need a good craft/project to do with 10 y/o DS today

I just can’t think of anything! We’ve done many crafts over the years but I think he’s old enough now to do something more interesting. I am quite crafty and we have lots of different supplies and could possibly go out and pick up more if needed. Ideally not terribly terribly messy as we have people coming round later. DS tends to prefer instant gratification and will generally abandon a project that takes more than a few sessions to finish.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Air dry clay or Fimo

My ds used to like painting Warhammer at that age.

Learn to knit. Large needles and thick chunky wool, knit a scarf!

Photo montage.

Torn paper collage, google for ideas how effective this can be.

Origami? My DD is very keen on it (she built an origami penguin army, hence the name). It’s quick, non messy but a bit more challenging than just sticking stuff together.

Make a character out of air dry clay...a hobbit, a footballer, an animal whatever he likes. Then build it a home/habitat.....stretch this out by doing a design of it on paper before hand possibly...

Or ask him what he would like to cook for tea, send him out to buy stuff and prep and cook it.

Take an old mirror, photo frame or plain t shirt and customise it....

Might not fit the scope of what you’re after but what about tie dye?
Or you could get fabric pens/paint and design t shirts or plain cheap hats/pillowcases. These are all things my son has done at parties with the parents helping.

Have you got a shoebox? Make a house for a toy in one.

Have you ever done needle felting? You could needle felt a little ball and stick googly eyes on it.

Or sock creature? Old sock, stuffing, tie cotton round for a neck, googly eyes. Or sock puppet.
