uti-nhs direct?

pissininthewind · 02/10/2020 15:51

Been suffering a suspected uti. Thought it was clearing on its own, but it's worsening again (some blood, cloudy urine with a smell).

Tried to book a telephone appointment with GP. None available until 15th October.

If it continues to not improve, will I be able to get a phone call back/antibiotics through NHS direct?

Thanks

You need an emergency gp apt. Is there an option to select that?

tectonicplates · 02/10/2020 15:58

Do you have a walk-in clinic in your area?

pissininthewind · 02/10/2020 16:00

Nothing on the surgery web site for emergency appointment, but I could call on Monday am.

There are walk in clinics, but was hoping it could be straightforward call

Try your pharmacist. They can prescribe for some things.

Does your local hospital have an out of hours GP? We have used this system in the past for dd. It’s not something you can leave for two weeks and a GP receptionist ought to know that

Pharmacy can prescribe. Call first

pissininthewind · 02/10/2020 16:33

Checjed on NHS direct app to see if pharmacy could help, popped in symptoms and it said call go today.

I tried doctor surgery just now on the off chance, and am on the list for a call back today

Thank goodness as nearest walk-in is 15 mile drive away.

Thanks everyone. I'm rubbish for worrying I'm wasting drs time.
