How does Asda Click and Collect work?

Going to collect my shopping this afternoon. Is there a machine? Does somebody come out and chuck it in my boot? My confirmation email wasn't particularly clear...

At mine there is a machine and you scan a code on it then a person goes to get it from 'out the back' and brings it to you and you have to show ID.

Oh no, I'm talking parcels!

Ignore that!

You park in the click and collect area and then they put it in your boot!

Okay. I have an order number, no code. My email has a link to follow which says "I'm here". So I guess I just press that and wait in the car?

Geez I'm coming across as thick and needy!

I did this for the first time this week. I had to drive to a corner of a car park where a man took my name, then disappeared. Ten minutes later he appeared again with a stack of plastic crates on a trolly, which he dumped by my car. I had to unload the goods into the boot (they were loose in the crates and I only had 2 plastic bags in the car so I ended up throwing most of it loose into the boot). Then I had to wheel the crates back to him. When I got home, I had to bring bags out and pack stuff into them to transport it all into the house! So the takeaway message is: don't forget your bags!
