Where in the bedroom do you hang/put worn but not dirty clothes?

If you have worn something but it’s not dirty and you will probably wear it the next day where do you put it? I have a smallish bedroom and am trying to work out what would be good to put an outfit on that I don’t want back in the wardrobe. What do you use if your room is short on space - Chair, floor, rail, rack, box?

If its clean enough to wear again then it can go back in the wardrobe.

DamnShesaSexyChick · 30/09/2020 22:22

If I’m wearing it again the next day I just put it on top of my chest of drawers

Back in the wardrobe or drawers. I don't like stuff lying around.

ShitUsername · 30/09/2020 22:30

Chair usually but if it’s something like a hoodie/ cardigan I might hang it over the door

LadyEggs · 30/09/2020 22:33

It's what exercise bikes were made for isn't it?

QuestionableMouse · 30/09/2020 22:35

They tend to stay in the bathroom, folded on the unit in there. I get dressed in there.

You shouldn't out worn clothes back in with clean clothes, they attract moths

@Reykjavikagain. Currently the chair of doom! If you don't have much floor space, a couple of rails on the back of the door can be really handy

@Dreading2020sSeasonFinale

The bedroom chair of course. That chair that had never actually been sat on, but merely sits there as a receptacle for all your still wearable clothes, many of which you don't put back on the following day and the chair pile just grows and grows until you say screw it, pick the huge pile up and dump it all in the laundry basket.

Or is it just me?

No. No it's not just you BlushGrin

On the Ikea Bekvam at the end of the bed.

I have 2 levels

  1. Not worn much/PITA to wash/dry clean - hook on the inside of the wardrobe.
  2. Medium amount of worn but not really dirty - over the bed frame till I get fed up and they go in the washing basket.

I feel like I’m at that stage of my life where I’ve left the floordrobe behind and I now need ‘a chair’.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 30/09/2020 22:43

The chaise longue at the end of my bed.

"I can’t bear things left lying around. There is no chair of already work clothing. That would irritate me each time I saw it."

But flr the most part youbwill be asleep and not see them. Or not care if other bedroom activities are taking place.

HelloDaisy · 30/09/2020 22:44

I have a free standing mirror from Ikea with hooks and a frame behind it just for hanging clothes.

Littleposh · 30/09/2020 22:46

A hanger on a hook on the back of the bedroom door

Keratinsmooth · 30/09/2020 22:47

Often the floor if it’s just over night

MonkeyPuddle · 30/09/2020 22:47

@starfishmummy it’s true I wouldn’t see them much as I am asleep. I also spend time in bed reading with the light in. But why be irritated at all if I don’t have to be? I’d much rather take 10 seconds of my time to remove an irritant.

oakleaffy · 30/09/2020 22:53

Drape them over the back of an old rocking horse..He is useful for this.
Like a tall table. Even now he has a pile of clothes on him.

A rocking horse on a window when I was a kid used to be used as a ''Clothes horse''...they seem natural things to drape things over.

oakleaffy · 30/09/2020 22:56

@Littleposh

A hanger on a hook on the back of the bedroom door
That is terrifying... That all too human shape in the grainy darkness made by hanging up clothing on the back of doors..... Kind of ''leering''.... Shades of M.R.James's ''Oh Whistle and I'll come to you, my lad''.
Reykjavikagain · 30/09/2020 22:57

Oakleaffy. A rocking horse is a lovely idea. I’d definitely not have thought of that as a clothes storage solution .

@oakleaffy I am howling!! To be honest, the minute my head hits the pillow I am spark out so don't even notice there's anything there!!

On the floordrobe.
