I have a problem with a neighbour who persistently parks in her bay as close to mine as possible, often with her car wheels on the dividing line between our bays. (Think supermarket car park bays in a row in front of the houses)
They’re narrow bays already so it makes parking quite difficult, I have a wall on the other side as I’m at the end, so I can’t physically move my car any further over and it leaves us both roughly 10 inches to open our car doors.
We don’t speak at all as her dog has been aggressive towards my children and she’s a general shit neighbour, so I can’t ask her to move over without an argument. I don’t know if she’s doing it on purpose to annoy me, or if she is just terrible at parking.
I’m not allowed to put a fence or bollards between the bays as it’s council owned, we just rent the use of them.
So my point is, is this legal to park on the markings and not central to the bay? And is there anything I can do, revenge or otherwise?
I did try parking close to the line myself, but I’m pretty sure she scratched my car by opening her door onto it, although I can’t prove it.
