Why would someone send a completely blank email?

Got an email last night which was completely empty - no subject matter, no content, nothing. Is it some sort of virus? Or just sent by mistake?

Could you see who it was (apparently) sent from? Even if it’s a known contact they’ve probably been hacked. If it’s a random address then it’s phishing. Block and ignore.

Did you get another email about five minutes later from the same person? I've done it - clicked Send by mistake before writing any kind of message ... Mind you, I also used to send Christmas cards with no signature!
