I'm staying in a hotel near Exeter, it's more rural than expected (I should have checked) and the wifi and Internet are slow. I need to work for a few hours tomorrow morning. Any ideas of a location where I can set up my laptop?? Happy to buy tea and lunch but don't really know the area.
Thanks

What side of Exeter are you on?

PineconeOfDoom · 29/09/2020 21:05

Have you checked if the library in the town centre is open?

I'm West (on the way A30 I think) but need to be on the east side for an afternoon appointment so happy to go anywhere, parking would be helpful.

Upstairs in Boston tea party in Queen Street is a nice (although fairly noisy) place to work, or yes the library I believe is open (also in queen street!)

Thanks, I never thought about the library, would they mind I'm not local?

There’s a small local cafe called The Snug in Whipton Village Road that has street parking and free WiFi. Great cakes and huge portions for breakfast and lunch.

Back when he was a grad student, my ex always used to go for a coffee in the Southgate Hotel (bottom end of Southernhay). Very quiet, free wifi, spacious, once you'd bought your coffee the staff would leave you alone for ages, apparently. There's a pay and display just across the road too.

The Mill on the Exe is a large pub that is pretty quiet on week day mornings. I'm sure you would be able to set up at a table for a few hours. There is free parking too.

Thanks everyone, perfect local knowledge
