But if I need to feed the kids, then pesto pasta or tuna pasta bake.

Super noodles with cooked chicken and sweetcorn
Beige dinner
Omelet
Soup and toastie
Pasta pesto
Beans on toast

All good in our house when I’ve run out of steam.

The filled pasta bake sounds lovely, that will be added to my repertoire

Fresh pasta, fresh green pesto, grated Parmesan, big glass of white wine.

Takes 3 minutes from fridge to bowl.
Yum Yum pigs bum.

PodgeBod · 29/09/2020 22:28

For the kids: pasta, frozen peas, dairylea and some sort of protein (often frozen chicken nuggets. I pretend it counts)

For me and DP: cereal

Coldbatteredpuddings · 29/09/2020 22:36

2 slices of toast - one with beans on and one with scrambled egg on. Takes 5 min and is super satisfying.
Or frozen Mediterranean veg fried in olive oil with some halloumi or chorizo all stuffed in a pitta bread. Takes hardly any time and is delicious!

I’ve gotten really into turkey dinosaurs recently 😳 Hadn’t eaten them for over 20 years and then bought them for DS in the hope that a dinosaur shaped food might encourage him to eat SOMETHING when he was going through a really fussy phase (it worked!)... turns out they are delicious if you don’t think about the health aspect.

Also a big fan of pasta and pesto (basically all I ate as a child). Tuna is our go to but bacon or ham definitely feels like more of a treat.

PolarBearStrength · 30/09/2020 05:25

Side note: PIL’s minds were blown recently when I served a pasta a salad with pesto as a thrown together lunch recently. They’d never had pesto!
