Rubbish John Lewis delivery experience.

I ordered some stuff for home delivery from John Lewis. Nothing exciting, just bedding etc.
Royal Mail cancelled delivery and told me to contact JL. Eventually I got through on Live Chat and was told only one (small) part of my order was now available.
I suspect the items weren’t in stock at all when I ordered and RM refused to complete the delivery without the full amount.
Angry
Anyone else had problems with JL home delivery recently? The queue for Live Chat was quite long.

Sorry you’ve had a bad experience. I had a delivery from them this morning - an exchange of something faulty. I have to say they were fab: sent it next day delivery, text an hour beforehand giving me the delivery time, courteous delivery driver. Much better than the service I’ve experienced from some companies recently!

Yes they took payment for £400 for a travel system a couple of months ago that was advertised as 3-5 days delivery then when 2 weeks passed and no despatch confirmation or pram had come I contacted them for them to merrily tell me they couldn't deliver until 6 weeks time as they were awaiting more stock. This was by Twitter, they then told me the only way to get a refund was to phone so I wasted half an hour on hold. Refund received pretty promptly though but I was really peed off that they'd taken the money way in advance of being able to even despatch what I had paid for. I won't use them again now.

I have had the exact opposite experience. Ordered three things for my nephew's birthday late on Saturday night, and they were delivered to his home yesterday. I hadn't paid anything extra for speedy delivery!

How would RM know that the order was incomplete?

I’ve got some more of the order coming tomorrow via courier. Hope it turns up. I’ve just checked the items on the cancelled part of the order and they are all still in stock on the website! Don’t know what’s going on with them but their standards have certainly slipped from when I used them before.

No idea, but someone’s telling me fibs.

Oops, nc fail to top off my day Grin 🤦‍♀️

Hello1290 · 29/09/2020 19:45

RM would not get involved - they are only interested in delivering - wouldn't care less if it was a whole or part delivery.

Saucery · 29/09/2020 19:56

So is it JL who realised they couldn’t fulfil the order after all and cancelled with RM who then sent me the tracking message? Pretty shoddy really, particularly as the items are still on the website.
Anyway, got the stuff from somewhere else. Just wanted to support JL as what I thought of as a ‘good’ firm. Won’t bother again.
