How to get a parcel from Chelmsford to NW London ASAP?

Trying to get a 2m role of vinyl to NW6 ASAP- the courier that the seller found was charging £45(!!!) to get it here on Monday. Any better ideas as currently I’m accepting that I will have to buy something else.

Try a different courier. I’ve found them from the website Shipley.

Don’t use Hermes ( I use them at work) they take forever!

£45 IS outrageous. I’m tempted to hop in the car but it’s an hour each way and I have a baby to juggle... But that literally might be the fastest and most cost-effective option!

Have you tried parcel force. They can be quite reasonable for bigger parcels and you can have it collected or drop it to the post office.

Quickest would probably be to get on a train with it?

A one day Travelcard would set the OP back around 25 quid though.

I'd drive it there, but avoid rush hour. Traffic's a nightmare on both the A12 and M25 at the moment.

Or, sometimes I've seen people at work use uber as a courier. You could see if a cab driver would take it.

Turns out it’s in Blackburn, not Chelmsford. Easy to get the two mixed up(!). I looked at ParcelForce, thanks for the tip, and they can do a cheapish 48h delivery... but it will still be the weekend unfortunately now that it’s already late on Tues. Wish teleportation was a thing!
