Council or Police?

I wonder if anyone can advise me - my eldest has just started Reception and the route involves crossing and A-road (6 lanes of busy traffic). No bridge or tunnel, and there is one part where cars turns onto it and then don't seem to see the red light, so we have nearly been hit by a car 4 times now since 22nd Sept.
We are on other waiting lists for schools, but I feel like something should be done. I have mentioned it to local councillors and not heard back, but is it something I should get in touch with the police about (don't want to waste their time), or is there another body?
Any help much appreciated!

Just to clarify, nearly been hit by cars who are running a red light.

That is a Council issue. Have you spoken to the Highways department?

I'd raise it with the school to begin with snd they can raise it with council/police.

The school can't do anything.

It's a council matter, they have control of highways and road works.

Is the issue the placement of the signage / signals or something else do you think?

What would improve it?

Contact the council Highways dept and copy in the councillors.
