Lenovo thinkpad storage full but nothing on it?

I’ve bought a cheap Lenovo thinkpad for homework. There is literally about 14MB of work saved onto it and it’s already saying the hard drive is full and that I only am 330MB of space left out of 27.2GB. I’ve installed nothing on it.

I feel so completely and utterly ripped off!

Has anyone had a similar experience or have any advice about what I might be doing wrong here?

Have you run de-frag?
Have you looked to see what is using up your storage space?

Apparently SSD don’t need defragging :(

When I look at the storage, 17GB is the system etc and then apparently 7GB is apps and games (of which I have none other than the ones that came installed and when I check them to remove some, nowhere near 7GB of apps) and then the rest is taken up by temporary files which I’ve tried to find and delete but they don’t seem to exist. I’ve google the far end of a fart and still no clue what to do because the stuff that it says is taking up space doesnt seem to exist.
