Based on how your life has panned out so far, if given the choice to go back in time and choose whether to be born or not.....

Just that really.

You have the power to decide whether to be brought into this world or not. If you say no, you will simply vanish from existence. Yes, and life will play out exactly how it already has i.e. there's no opportunity to make different choices etc...

Mine would be a resounding NO. The pointlessness of life actually overwhelms me at times.

I am not depressed, I have a fairly good life/job/family/friends etc. Yet, I can't think of any circumstance that would make me think that there was any point to any of this ...gestures vaguely

So if you had a choice, what would it be?

I'm not depressed either, I quite like my life, but I'd go for not being born. Because I wouldn't know any different so there's nothing to lose.

I think I enjoyed life upto my early 20s but the last 20 have been more hardships and stress, so i think on balance, it's a No.

I would. I'm really happy and grateful to be alive. It's not always easy but I enjoy so much about being alive.

TBF though there's probably a bias amongst those who are still up at 2am on a Monday night. I think it's Monday anyway.

No. I’d love to just vanish from existence at the moment. The last few years haven’t been great but the last month has really made me feel like I’d rather not be here. I don’t like the world we live in and after the last month I’d rather just not have to bother anymore. 😔

Yes I'd definitely go around again! I enjoy life and have had a lot of fun and adventures. Some bits have been hard, but on the whole its been a good life.

I am glad that I was born, despite it being in the war years, It means that I have experienced all the changes,,good and bad, in all the eras since then, so it's been worthy for lots of things in life, good and bad again, as I have had the usual crap and upsets along the way.

I would not like to be born now though. It's quite a dangerous world to live in now. People have become addicted to techno stuff, and are becoming zombified, and good manners and morals have been lost along the way.

@NiceGerbil you're probably right, results may be skewed due to posting time!

I get irrationally angry at not being given a choice in the matter! I saw a picture somewhere that said something like ' I can't believe 2 people had sex 40 years ago, and now I have to go to work(substitute for any other mundane, adult, activity) tomorrow '

So pessimistic but so APT!

I’ve only about 3years of happiness and carefreeness in my life, so I’d say no. I wouldn’t want to go through it all again. But my lovely D.C. wouldn’t exist either. But maybe I’m the only one that finds

No. I really should never have been born. I wasn't planned or wanted and it went downhill frimm there.

No. I'm autistic and life is basically a terrible struggle every day with nothing to look forward to. My existence is pointless.

It doesn't bother me if life is pointless. In fact it's good - I usually fail at everything so if there was a point or end goal, I certainly wouldn't reach it. I'm happy "wasting" time on Netflix or eating biscuits, because I may as well right, why not?

Much more interesting thought is if you could go back in time what would you change ?. I did a few things in my teens I would avoid in hindsight, mostly involving stepping out of my knickers. But I did work abroad before I settled down and I wouldn’t have changed that. And I think I would make more of an effort to understand my mother. She had a tough early life but you don’t appreciate that growing up.

Absolutely I would!

The world is amazing, and the odds of making it here are tiny!

I’ve seen sunsets, sunrises, whales, waterfalls, babies being born, people passing away. I’ve known the companionship of dogs, swum in oceans and lakes, climbed trees and hills and stood at the foot of mountains. I’ve laughed until I’ve cried, and cried until I’ve laughed. I’ve made love, made life and made a difference to others. I’ve seen great art, read wonderful books and heard beautiful music. I’ve grown things - both plants and people. All this, plus true love at last, after a lifetime of nowhere near.

And that’s the tiny tip of the iceberg.

So hell yes, I’d do it again. The world isn’t perfect, but it’s a privilege to have seen it.
