I have found writing things down then destroying the paper, or drawing, helps me get it out of my brain.

But I am not an expert so don't do this if you think it would upset you too much.

Can you safely get up and make yourself tea and toast? By breaking the physical
Cycle and having something warm and filling you can often calm your brain. If you feel a hot kettle isn’t safe even a cold glass of milk would help,

Can you write about them here? Many of us would be happy to listen.

If writing them out doesn't help (I do understand it can worsen things) maybe you could doodle something like 'safer now' or 'in the past' with colouring pens? I doodle, sometimes the negative feeling (e.g. sad) or the more positive current situation. I make it beautiful.colours.

I understand that you don't feel safe. It is an understandable feeling, even if not real.

Chocolatethief · 29/09/2020 01:49

Unfortunately cbt wont work for me due to my mental health problems I need trauma therapy really but in order to argue why I should get it I have to get through dbt first
