Ginger is wonderful

Just that really. I was chopping root ginger for a curry earlier and it has so many uses. Biscuits. Cakes. Chocolate coated. Zing up your rhubarb crumble. Stir frys. It's the only thing I've found that reliably prevents motion sickness. Is there anything else as all-round good as ginger?

These sound great too. I have to stop myself from putting ginger in every juice. Grin

It is except when it’s in a box of chocolates. Yuk.

My sticky gingerbread is delish. I usually make it for Halloween and Bonfire Night.
Which reminds me, I need to buy black treacle and golden syrup.

For ginger in savoury cooking I usually use the little glass jars of Easy Ginger from Asda - they’re brilliant. Ditto their Easy Red Chilli. Used always to buy both fresh but these are so good I don’t bother any more.

I’m married to a ginger man, he’s alright, ginger in food is disgusting (sweet or savoury - you can keep it all)

I was recently introduced to ginger jam. Lovely on toast, mixed into Greek yogurt or as a topping for a microwave pudding.

Ginger jam is amazing. I discovered Tiptree ginger jam a few years ago in a small grocers in the Yorkshire Dales. Oh. My. God. Can't find it anywhere locally though.

😍 Please would you mind sharing the recipe? Quick photo if you have it written down? 🙏🏻 Sounds amazing!

Thanks Gin

@thatonesmine I live in the Yorkshire Dales there's loads of Tiptree here. If you PM me I'd be happy to grab some for you? X

Ginger wine! Perfect with a real fire, a good book & some quality dark chocolate on a rainy autumn Sunday afternoon

SquishySquirmy · 30/09/2020 10:17

Jojobythesea · 30/09/2020 12:00

This is one our favourite recipes in this house. Lemony Bombay Chicken. Recipe for one but obviously multiply, Stick in the oven. Delicious. The ginger makes it. (Although I chop smaller than matchstick size!)
