Anyone else in financial difficulties post-lockdown?

I know there's a money section but I thought perhaps a general support thread might be good for those of us in financial difficulties.

Very, very short version is both me & husband lost our jobs. We had savings but have used those now.

We both started businesses over lockdown which are bringing in some income but nothing like our outgoings which are high.

Called Citizens Advice today and their debt team will be calling back in the next day or two...

...anyone else want to support and share ideas through this?

Are you claiming any top up benefits you may be entitled to if earnings are low such as Universal credit? Sorry things are difficult for you.

We’ve been screwed by Dh being on furlough, earn too much to claim benefits but it’s been really hard the past couple of months. I’ve also been down around £400/500 on my salary. So a double whammy.

I’ve radically reduced our out going’s, and we just about break even each month now. It’s so hard (it’s not like we had extravagant lifestyle)

My goal for 2021 is to clear the debt we’ve built up. Sadly that looks easier said than done.
