Are they really leak proof?

the water bottle is.

ScrumptiousJohn · 28/09/2020 19:42

The water bottle is amazing. If a little on the heavy side. But my goodness the cold cold water....

Batfinklestein · 28/09/2020 19:42

I've used mine almost daily for two years. It's never leaked.
Having said that, I bought DH a cheap one from Primark and that's never leaked either!

Happyotamus · 28/09/2020 19:45

Yeah, I have also heard good things about the primark ones but I like the Seahorse design on the Chilly's bottles.

Main thing is no leakage, and something that keeps drinks (and food) warm/cool...

Do I go for it?

They are brilliant. Cold water all day in the summer. Hot squash after outdoor swimming!

BikeRunSki · 28/09/2020 19:57

Oh - and no leaks!

Suckmuckduck · 28/09/2020 20:29

They’re heavy and they can’t go in the dishwasher.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 28/09/2020 20:38

We have a chilly bottle and a £5 wilko one. Almost identical.

Sloth169 · 28/09/2020 20:46

I have a chillys bottle which is certainly leak proof and works to keep things cold ..... I honestly hate carrying it about though as it weighs a tonne (I have the 750ml bottle)

Juanmorebeer · 28/09/2020 20:57

They are really good but they do really dent if you drop them.

JuiceyBetty · 28/09/2020 22:06

We have the food flask and use it every day for DS’s lunch. It’s brilliant and has never leaked.

Clevs · 28/09/2020 22:25

I ummed and arred for a while over getting a Chilly's bottle and decided I'd like one in the end so requested one for my birthday.

It does keep squash really cold all day, even on the warmest days. I don't drink hot drinks so can't comment on that.

I found out through trial and error though that you need to fill it with chilled water for it to get really chilled. At first I was filling it from the tap and putting it in the fridge overnight but it didn't really get that cold. Probably because the bottle is so well insulated it was hard to get the contents cold. So now I fill with chilled water, put in the fridge overnight and on the hottest days add an ice cube when I get it out in the morning.

Oh yeah mine is dented and chipped also 🙄 but it did look good to start with 🤣
ClarencesMum · 29/09/2020 08:14

Absolutely worth every penny and I'm saying that as someone who usually gets their stuff from B&M.

Filling it with cold water is the best, I just keep a litre bottle in the fridge topped up. Putting a full chilly bottle in the fridge won't chill the contents.

I would guess the food pots are just as good but I haven't had one.

WingingWonder · 29/09/2020 08:17

They are great, but I’ve one from sainos, as do my kids too and it’s just as good for about £8
@Clevs You can’t chill them in the fridge theyre insulated- they’re designed to hold the temp of what’s gone in, so if you want it cold you need to put in cold and add ice cubes if you want extra fresh!

Nottobesoldseparately · 29/09/2020 08:19

I love mine......I've got 3 now.

One I carry all over with me, which is not that heavy, chipped or dented, despite being dropped a couple of times.

One at work on my desk as I kept leaving my first behind.

And a spare at home as my nephew was constantly 'stealing' my cold water so I got one for him when he's with me.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 29/09/2020 08:23

I’ve got an £8 wilkco one. My manager was drinking out of his chilly one and thought mine was too. Blush

It’s so heavy, and takes a bit of working out how to get the water cold enough to fill it. The neck is too narrow for ice cubes. You can buy tube ice cube trays from chilly £7.

It does work well. I love ice cold water.
