Following for Christmas ideas!

ginabeano · 28/09/2020 08:55

Melissa and Doug Ice cream parlour

Camomila · 28/09/2020 08:55

He's 4 now but the absolute favourite is the wooden train set, also liked
wooden kitchen and food, and
big basket of assorted cars/trucks/emergency vehicles.

He was never that bothered about megablocks/duplo/or happyland

I see a lot of love for the M&D Ice Cream Parlour among DD's friends.

DD herself is all about drawing and crafting. Literally from dawn til dusk.

So the thing she uses most is her felt tips (she recently got a set of 200), and paper, card, colouring books. She's also a massive fan of sticker books.

Her toys rarely get a look-in.

ninebiscuits · 28/09/2020 09:09

Were just buying for Xmas and bday of a nearly 3yo... on the list so far is Duplo, tots town, dinosaurs, playdoh, wooden train track and accessories, craft stuff, colouring, painting etc.
All to add to stuff he already has and loves!

Everybodysaycheese · 28/09/2020 10:26

The Leapfrog Scoop and Learn Ice-cream cart is a huge hit here for my two and a half year old. Her wooden food and kitchen are also played with daily. She's also a fan of jigsaws and sticker books!

Bikingbear · 28/09/2020 10:31

Cars / paw patrol vehicles / blaze
Dinosaurs a big green one and a duplo one.
Magformers / not as intended / makes guns and dragons with a chunk of imagination out of them.

I think for Christmas I'm going to get him more dinosaurs not sure which though.

Indecisivelurcher · 28/09/2020 10:32

Imaginext super heros

Indecisivelurcher · 28/09/2020 10:32

And hot wheels cars and garage loop the loop

Bikingbear · 28/09/2020 10:34

Oh that's the other thing he often plays with Duplo Superheroes

TakeMeToYourLiar · 28/09/2020 10:37

Brio, it's his absolute favourite, played with constantly.

His second favourite is his wooden animals from Lanka kade

BabetteAteOtemeal · 28/09/2020 10:42

I wish my almost 3yo had the attention span of all of yours!! Especially the child who will draw from dawn till dusk- the dream!

He flits between things but he looooooves imagination play and the Hape toy people (we have a family of 4) get played with very often.

He gets frustrated with his train set, we bring it out every month or so to see if it improves but no Confused

For his birthday next week I have got him an IKEA kitchen which I'm expecting will get a lot of use. And a peppa pig plane which he covets at playgroup.

We also have a Haba marble run which he really loves, obviously we have to set it up for him, but we have to put it away as the baby likes to knock it over when we're not looking. But it has bought him lots of fun and he will focus on this for a good hour (with a parent with him)

Bikingbear · 28/09/2020 10:49

BabetteAteOtemeal which version of the Haba run do you have? I'm going back and forward between buying Haba and Quadrilla. The older Haba ones looked really nice but the newer ones seem to have more plastic.

Stinkbaby · 28/09/2020 12:24

Hot wheels cars and buzz lightyear figure. He was never interested in mega blocks but since I considered getting rid of them hes played with them a lot.

Fancyateapottea · 28/09/2020 15:07

Duplo, paw patrol toys (vehicles and tower) and games/ puzzles (orchard games are a winner here).

Poodlessitonnoodles · 28/09/2020 15:12

Now 4 but consistently played with (and still does) duplo, wooden train set (John Lewis do some fab bits to add to the track), play kitchen and a water spray bottle cloth and squeegee-he loves cleaning windows 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

BabetteAteOtemeal · 28/09/2020 19:08

@Bikingbear we have the standard modular wooden Haba one. I got a random megamix from ebay so there's a few longer runs, a swirly wirly bit, a click clack track. There was about 80 pieces in there. He looooves it and is really careful with the marbles but we can't leave it out because the baby also loves the marbles Blush

I've seen the quadrilla and think it looks really good too but I love all the different add ons for the haba one, especially the musical ones, good for present ideas for family.

Playdoh, barbies/dolls house/accessories (this is the favourite at the moment), dressing up (Elsa dress), just got back into mega blocks

InvincibleInvisibility · 28/09/2020 19:32

Brio train set
Ikea wooden kitchen
Any large vehicle

LemonDrizzles · 28/09/2020 19:36

Anything with people. Loves playmobil bus

Timeforanotherusername · 28/09/2020 19:38

Wooden trainset was popular.

And we could just keep adding to it.
