Winter and summer curtain?

Spend the afternoon hanging up my DM's winter curtains. She's always had a summer set for every room in the house, and a winter set.

Does anyone else do this? Or do I have a uniquely bonkers mother?

Nope, I do.

Summer curtains let the light in - because it's daylight at 6am why would you want to waste that lovely pearly light - and winter curtains keep out the draughts.
My winter curtains are also a lovely cosy red, and the summer curtains are eiher white or pale green brocade.

I was just thinking about this the other day, my Nan always had summer and winter curtains. Nobody I know does this now.

My grandparents did it. My parents are in their seventies now, they've never done it.
