Will this recipe work?

I have salmon flakes, I was going to make a sort of cheese bake with salmon, broccoli and cheese sauce on the bottom with some red onion.

Then mustard mash on top with a bit of cheese on top of the mash.

I've not made it before.

Is there anything there that won't work or is there anything else I should add?

Sounds lovely, but I personally wouldn’t bother with the onion, it might overpower the fish. Cheese & mustard work well together.

Ok thank you. I wasn't sure about the onion myself.

Usually I try stuff and I'm not the best.

Sounds really nice, but agree about the onion

I’d add spring onion if you have it, but not red onion.

NancyBotwinBloom · 27/09/2020 17:09

I only had red onion.

I will give it a go tomorrow and see how it turns out

I think that sounds great, and unlike the others I would add the red onion. But I have red onion with almost everything!

NancyBotwinBloom · 27/09/2020 17:37

Well I've started it so tomorrow it will just need to go in the oven.

My DH is already giving me side eye asking what am I burning Confused

Sounds lovely. I’m very much in the ‘throw things in and see what they do’ school of cooking, it can’t go too far wrong really!

NancyBotwinBloom · 27/09/2020 18:06

I've put it in terracotta individual dishes to make it look fancy Grin

Sounds good minus the onion. I think I’d do horseradish mash instead of mustard.

NancyBotwinBloom · 27/09/2020 18:09

I have horseradish I will give them the option lol 😂

You could add something like peas or spinach in instead of onion if you’re looking for a veggie fix?

Thanks for the advice, everyone liked it!!!
