Can you come back from Portugal have a week at home then travel to Turkey?

You have to self isolate dont you for 14 days before going to another country or even out - just need to clarify this as a family member insists she can go to Turkey after 7 days!!!!

You would need to check the Turkish rules.
But, yes. As far as I know, you can leave the UK before your quarantine is complete.

Ehislt the country might accept you, how do you get to and thru a UK airport whilst self isolating in the UK?

Overseasmom100 · 27/09/2020 16:38

Yes I thought that you HAVE to self isolate for 14 days...surely it will flag up on the passport in the Uk if you try to get out again before the 14 days???

It doesn't flag on the passport and no-one will query it. It's down to personal responsibility...

Overseasmom100 · 27/09/2020 16:49

OMG that's so wrong!!!

You’re allowed to leave the country within quarantine. It was written in the exemptions. If the Turkish rules allow this; then it’s fine.

You can leave the UK within the 14 days as long as you go directly from your place of self-isolation to the departure port.

The HMG rules on self isolation following arrival in England from a non-exempt country state that if you are isolating:

"you can only leave your accommodation in limited circumstances and while outside your accommodation, you should stay alert and stay safe. These include where:

you are travelling directly in order to leave England..."........

So you can arrive in England from say the Spain or France, go directly to your place of isolation, then the next day go directly back to the airport and catch a flight out of the country.

FWIW Simon Calder pointed this facet of the rules out in the Spring on MSM and got flamed for it but he was absolutely correct....

Full rules here:

So during the 14 days you CAN leave your place of isolation to travel outside of England ... so she can
