Best and cheapest way to play music / radio / audio book on iphone?

DC has an iphone 6 as do I. She'd like to put music or audiobook on for the bus. Apple unlimited is £10 a month. She'd be happy with listening to her CDs (yes, we are old school here). Computer doesn't have a CD drive -but I have a plug in one and can use one at work.

I've downloaded itunes -is that the best way -to put them in the library?

We have amazon prime and netflix but DC doesn't have unlimited data and is 2 hours a day on the bus.

Any other things? I could do. Ideally music we can stick on their iphone and mine -we like the same stuff and have hundreds of CDs we like.

I'm unsure about the CD thing as I've not owned a CD for at least 10 years now.

BBC radio player is free (but would need data unless you download programmes at home - probably not what your DD is after TBH!)

Audible is £7.99 a month and can be used without data. We've had an account for years and have a huge library of books which have more than paid for themselves. I believe you can also hire them for free from some libraries too.

I don't know if you can download from Amazon Music without an account, but I don't think they're expensive. We use Deezer which is £14.99 a month for unlimited use for (I think) 7 accounts.

IME it's always easier if you are paying for a subscription rather than relying on free services. Maybe she would like a subscription as a Christmas present?

?Champagneforever- what a flipping good idea, do you know what she was just saying the other day when I asked her -what she wanted for christmas -that she didn't need anything for christmas and just some nice fairy lights for her room would be nice -so I might just to that -buy her a subsciption. Next question -does one subsciption work on mulitple devices? Amazom music, apple etc............. Thank you.
