Two switches (1 on each side of the room for the same switch). No noise when light is on but when tried to switch off it dims slightly and crackles and sizzles and light doesn’t turn off. Any idea what I can do?? Worried there will be a fire or something

Turn off at the trip switch (downstairs lighting) and call an electrician?

FourPlasticRings · 27/09/2020 13:00

Yeah, I agree, turn off the power to that circuit and call an electrician ASAP.

You need an electrician immediately before you have a fire.

How much water are we talking?

I would probably turn it off at the circuit and leave it to dry out for a couple of days, it should be fine then. Defo don't use the light while it's making those sounds and keeping a connection going that shouldn't be.
