Anyone every done this/has got a car on lease? I need the pros and cons before my current car goes to the scrapyard in the sky!

I'm in your position - current car en route to the scrapyard in the sky.

I just can't make a decision. I can afford to buy something outright (up to around £10k.)and hardly drive at all these days.

I think on the whole buying outright is a better deal financially.

..and I seem to have spent months on Auto trader but still no nearer to making a decision.

@ageingdisgracefully If I could afford to buy outright I probably would but not an option at the moment. Current car is 15 years old and I could probably only afford something that was 10 years old anyway. A lease car would be new which is appealing.

I would suggest for you to think about what you need to use it for and would probably spend less than 10k if it was just a run around car

I get what you mean. I think I'd always go for a PCP over a HP though, if buying outright is not an option.

I'll probably end up buying an older runaround, rather than the swish sporty job I fancy, yes.

What's your monthly budget?
