Looks like lilac. Pretty manky all year but so glorious in spring that it's worth tolerating.

I didn’t think it was manky tbh, lol

New house, so just trying to get to grips with stuff, it’s part of a sort of almost hedge with Hawthorne, elderberry brambles, stuff like that.

Just the possibly lilacs are a bit taller than we’d like, so we were trying to work out what they are to see if they’ll cope with us taking a bit of height off.
