Gas cheaper than electricity

We've had a smart meter fitted but it is only showing what we spend on electricity. British Gas provides both gas and electricity to us.

We have a gas cooker and gas central heating-in our previous house we had only electricity, so unsure about its cost. The heating is on for about 6 hours a day and the oven about half an hour a day.

So, I can see what the electricity is costing (aroundabout 2-3 pound a day) and our standing order for both gas and electricity is £150 a month.

According to our sums, £90 will be for electricity but is gas per unit-or however they measure it- more expensive than electricity? I'm hoping that the standing order of £150 won't have to be increased!

British Gas meters show both gas and electric so I'd give them a call because your meter sounds faulty.

Thanks @HoratiotheHorsefly, I will.

The leaflet that came with showed a split screen but ours doesn't have thar and the guy who set it up didn't say anything about it.
