Colleagues’ jobs that you either covet or are glad you don’t do

I work in admin in a secondary school - it’s a new job and has thrown me as previously I worked in tiny schools (25 kids / 30 kids). I am slowly getting to grips with it though which makes me feel a bit better.

Looking at what my colleagues do however, the job I would really dislike is the data manager / exams officer role one of my colleagues does 😱.

Wouldn’t mind a shot at head’s PA maybe / not sure.

Leaving aside issues of qualification for the jobs - what do you see your colleagues doing and are either really glad not to be doing, or would potentially like to do?

2 of my colleagues do my fucking head in - they’re in my reporting group but do a slightly different job than me. They’re in the same pay band and I know they’re earning more than me. Every week at our team catch ups I have to listen to them list what they’ve done that week “well I did this and I spoke to so-and-so then I sent an email”. They do so little they literally list out every interaction they’ve performed in the week. Meanwhile I’m running around like a blue arsed fly with 10x the responsibility and workload, on the same Banding and earning less.

I often say I’d bloody love to do their jobs as it doesn’t actually involve any work or responsibility and I would even get a pay bump... but then again I’d be completely paranoid that at the next restructure I’d be canned - it’d be nice and relaxing while it lasted though
