If you are Kay from Falmouth

Inspired by (but not a TAAT!) threads where people come on to complain about a stranger...

Kay, if you helped a hysterical woman in the Falmouth asda car park a few weeks ago, thank you

You said you weren't on social media, and wouldn't leave your last name, so hopefully somebody who knows you will read this. I'd had a very stressful few days, and your kindness was much appreciated.

If anyone knows a Lovely Kay, please hug them. Even if she's not from Falmouth.

I don't know any Kays! Grin

Were things just getting too much for you? We all get that at times. Glad she helped.

Fruitbaseddrinkforalady · 26/09/2020 00:54

I know a Kay, but tbh, she's a pain in the arese so not your nice Kay. Weirdly, an ad for where annoying Kay lives has just popped up on this page Confused

Thanks, yes had a difficult few days and was overwhelmed.

There should definitely be more hugs in life! Maybe I should expand the criteria to say anyone from Falmouth (everyone there was so kind to us) or who is called Kay, or who has ever been in an asda car park 😁

My best friend lives in Falmouth and she is not called Kay but she is lovely and I miss her, so this has cheered me up to know there are more lovely people around near her.

I'm glad someone was kind to you when you needed it, it's tough times at the moment.

I do hope this isn't going to become a thing, people gushing their thanks at strangers on Mumsnet.

MrsGrindah · 26/09/2020 16:56

I’m not from Falmouth but I am called Kay so , if you don’t mind I will gladly accept your hug as I’m feeling a bit down!

You miserable old mouse.

I like it, I love that Kay isn't one of those sicking SM people who film themselves as they do 'kind' things. Nice for likes is pretty shitty in my book.

GiantKitten · 26/09/2020 17:14

@Crockof

Thank you (gush gush) for miserable old mouse 😘

Why not? I explained that I had no way of contacting Kay, so if by 6 degrees of separation, somebody did know of her, I would love her to be thanked.

I wanted also to maybe shout out that there are genuinely lovely people out there, and its not all doom & gloom, no matter what the media try and tell us.

Finally, I guess I also hoped to encourage/ inspire others to be kind ~ even when you don't think its worthwhile someone will appreciate it.

And BTW it wasn't a stranger ~ her name is LOVELY KAY Grin

Well, I’d hope that this isn’t going to become a thing, people being needlessly spiteful on social media.

But it’d be a forlorn hope, thanks to people like the PP.

Bloodybridget · 26/09/2020 20:41

Miserable mouse! Brilliant!

Bloodybridget · 26/09/2020 20:44

Sorry @aliasname, shouldn't have added to the derailment of your thread. I hope your very kind Kay in Falmouth gets the message, somehow. There's so much sadness and anger around atm, it's great to acknowledge people's goodness.

crackofdoom · 26/09/2020 20:51

I'm from (very close to) Falmouth, and tempted to put this on the local Facebook page Grin

I also understand how the ASDA car park (it's actually in Penryn, technically) can affect one in that way....

lifesalongsong · 26/09/2020 20:53

There's a feature on Radio 4 on the Saturday morning programme where you can send in thanks for people in exactly this type of situation, I can't remember the name but it's the one with Richard Coles
