Now, I’m never going to do this but if I had unlimited energy, a great location and some money behind me, I’d open a book and toy shop, with an ice cream parlour too.
What sort of shop would you like?

Either a book shop or a children’s clothes shop - probably selling those posh Spanish-style children’s clothes.

Ooh I'd love to have a cake shop or tea room specialising in afternoon tea (but mainly for the cake not the sandwiches) maybe with a little bookshop/library on the side

A shop selling chocolates in the shape of animals.

I know exactly what it would look like, the logo, colour scheme etc.

It’s a lovely daydream that I have as I have no cash or time to actually make it happen!

I’d love to say bookshop but I don’t think I’d want to compete with amazon... so for me it’s music shop with a cafe section. (So a bit like when you get a coffee shop in a bookshop.) One that sells musical instruments and the odd vinyl.

Second hand book shop with a cafe at the front, upstairs in the attic is an art gallery for local artists to show and sell art, plus offer classes. There will be a bookshop cat.

An enormous rambling warehouse full of antiques, weird and wonderful vintage things and vintage clothes.

BetterEatCheese · 25/09/2020 21:39

Big cosy book shop with a lending library and a coffee shop

caughtalightsneeze · 25/09/2020 21:40

A shop selling sheet music. I would only sell music printed in my preferred font for music, with my preferred spacing, with the perfect note to stave ratio. It would be awesome and all musicians would love it. Grin

Edgy women’s clothes.

TroysMammy · 25/09/2020 21:42

Dolls house and craft shop specialising in card making.

Justnormajean · 25/09/2020 22:06

These all sound wonderful.
I always thought I’d like a deli, now I just wish there was one where I live, and a fish shop too.

There's a shop near where I used to live which is an aladdin's cave packed full with every kind of craft material. It has a restaurant selling amazing home cooked food and regularly holds craft workshops.
It's such a warm, welcoming place and I've always thought I'd love to run a shop like it if I had the time and money.

Maybe a cake and craft tea room with big cozy chairs and proper china tea pots.

Or a wedding dress shop.

When dh and i were in the lake district once, we wandered into a book shop that was chaotic with piles of books everywhere and a big fireplace with an old arm chair in front of it, that would be dh's ideal.
