I'm trying to make a list of essential cleaning products - can I get some tips?

I'm making a cleaning caddy as a bit of a funny yet practical house warming gift for my BIL who's moving out on his own soon.
We are also getting another "proper" gift.

He's quite a bit younger than DP and never lived on his own before and from what we've gathered buying cleaning supplies doesn't seem to be on his list ATM Grin
I've bought the caddy from home bargains it comes with a duster, some microfibres cloths, a scrubbing brush, a squeegee and some rubber gloves.

I now want to fill it with the cleaning product essentials needed to be able to effectively clean a house without having too many products. We will then put funny instructions on how to use them on the bottles.

So can I please get some recommendations for a "minimal yet essential" cleaning caddy?

Some Flash spray, furniture polish and a box of Harpic toilet tablets. Maybe a mould/mildew spray. I'd also include a toothbrush.

The pink stuff in a pot. Great stuff. Also the super strength toilet clean in a black bottle, Harpic I think. Oh an a box of oven cleaner which comes with bags to put the shelves and bits in.

I agree with the toothbrushes - very useful for all sorts of jobs. I use Stardrops multipurpose cleaner or cheap cream cleaner for practically all the cleaning in my house, with a bit of bleach for the loo.

I swear by microfibre cloths; it's amazing how much you can clean with just the cloth and water.

Star drops
Disinfectant (Lidl does one that kills coronavirus)
Zflora
A magic sponge (poundshop)
Bleach

Pledge Multi Surface polish - cleans everything without smearing. I even spray it on my brick fire place to make the room smell nice! Get him this microfibre glove to go with, it’s gimmicky but it works....

Having just had a "starter pack" delivered and found it works well, I'd recommend a Koh starter pack.
