Phosphate or Microlax? I have a child with chronic constipation,s and have had to give him phosphate enemas ,the advice is to lie the child on their left side and insert using ky jelly etc ,the child is supposed to hold the enema in as long as possible which ime isn't long at all ,it can be distressing but it has to be done ,good luck.

It can do ,and hopefully it will for your dd, unfortunately it has,nt always worked for my son ,but he does have long standing problems with constipation, plus he also has complex disabilities, have you tried Bisocodyl suppository,s ? My son has these prescribed as required and they can be very effective ( although they can cause nausea and cramps )
