Accident on the motorway coming back from work. Traffic at an absolute standstill. I'm bursting for a wee. Help!

Think about something else!

Always a great fear for me. If there is no bathroom around as sure as anything I will need

KooKooKachu · 24/09/2020 18:48

The only thing I've found in my car is a big plastic bag. I took my pants down but I can't get into a good position. Car seat worn move back any further. Theres cars all around me. Been sat here for an hour already.

Have you got something to wee in? Like an empty coffee cup?

WunWun · 24/09/2020 18:49

Can you get in the back seat? Make sure there are no holes in it!

Thunderbolted · 24/09/2020 18:49

Have you got tissue you could put in the bag?

KooKooKachu · 24/09/2020 18:49

Stupid me, I cant even recall if I drove past the service station or not and there is only 1 between these junctions. Not that I can move anywhere at the mo

Any bushes nearby?

Spanielmadness · 24/09/2020 18:51

Always keep a box or bucket in the car for emergencies.

I was once in standstill traffic in the M25 and had to use the base of a large Tupperware box I had a cake in............then sort of ‘not very stealthily‘ had to empty it out of the bottom of the door, as the stop-start traffic was making it slosh and the cake I had made was sat on the lid so I couldn’t close it!!

therewillbelies · 24/09/2020 18:51

A bit gross but put your knickers in the bag to absorb the wee and then it won't leak. At least you are on your way home! Hope it's not too much longer

twilightcafe · 24/09/2020 18:53

Can you put a jacket over your lap, shuffle so that you are sitting at the edge of the seat and wee into the bag?

iMatter · 24/09/2020 18:54

Get out the car, open a door at the front and one at the back (same side obvs) on the side away from the traffic and just stand between them and squat and pee. You'll never see these people again so it really doesn't matter.

KooKooKachu · 24/09/2020 18:54

Plenty of bushes next to the hard shoulder but theres loads of vehicles, the people would know what i was doing. Emergency services have been coming down the hard shoulder for the past hour, in sure there will be some more coming soon.

Open the passenger and drivers doors on the side with the least witnesses and go there, go in the bushes next to the road, anything in the boot you’ve forgotten. Men would just get out the car and go, must be nice.

twilightcafe · 24/09/2020 18:54

Or get onto the hard shoulder if you sr in the slow lane?

Redcherries · 24/09/2020 18:55

Who cares if they know! You’ll never speak to them or see them again!

dollypartonscoat · 24/09/2020 18:57

Just do it out of the window and then prepare to go viral

dollypartonscoat · 24/09/2020 18:58

Or have you a petrol can in the boot? Get that

LadyofTheManners · 24/09/2020 18:58

Are there any sanpro in your bag? I peed into about 4 of them once, with a carrier underneath. You'd be surprised how absorbent always are.

ouch321 · 24/09/2020 18:58

This would be my worst nightmare.

helpfulperson · 24/09/2020 18:59

I would do as suggested with the doors. All most people will be is sympathetic and if they aren't who cares.

iMatter · 24/09/2020 19:00

So what if they know?!!

You're having a piss in a bush not drowning kittens!

Notverygrownup · 24/09/2020 19:01

Oh bless. Too late for this occasion, but the most useful thing I have ever learned from MNet is to carry a bag of super absorbant cat litter in the car for these occasions.

Do you take lunch in a lunchbox?? They are tricky to balance on in a traffic jam, but they work . . .

Or get into the slow land and look out the window, to see if there are any old coffee cups on the verge you could pop out and grab . . .

MrsRogerLima · 24/09/2020 19:02

Just go like others have said. What choice do you have? You can't help it.

For future grab some of these and keep them in your glovebox.
