My Christmas present shopping. In September. I know not bat shit for many but flipping well out there for me!

Aworldofmyown · 24/09/2020 14:06

Held my breath when someone walked past me!!! The moment I did it I shouted at myself in my head - bonkers!

Mrsjayy · 24/09/2020 14:10

I bought some Christmas presents yesterday nipped into Boots for 1 thing came out with 2 bottles of perfume and beauty blender doodahs. I did walk the long way round to a bus stop to avoid the busstation too propley for me.

notanoctopus · 24/09/2020 14:11

When things just started opening up again, I took a can of dettol multi surface spray with me🤦‍♀️. DS needed the toilet. I went in shuddering, told him to not sit on the seat and to stand up. He then looked crestfallen and said "but mummy, I don't know how to do a stand up poo"! I quickly cleaned the seat for him with my dettol (!) and promptly cut my elbow on the lock as I moved my arm back too fast. Totally fucking batshit.

FedUpofLockdown123 · 24/09/2020 14:18

Not me but at the beginning my mum who was really anxious wanted to spray my child with disinfectant after she touched her Shock. We laugh about it nowHmm

Soubriquet · 24/09/2020 14:19

Absolutely nothing different for me

I start Christmas shopping around this time anyway, I’m not anti-baccing toilet seats or holding my breath past people either

I’m just carrying on

Mrsjayy · 24/09/2020 14:21

I was reading a leaflet yesterday I thought it said face disinfectant I was disappointed it saidsurface Grin

FizzyPink · 24/09/2020 14:23

A friend was telling me how pleased she is her work are now providing kettles for them to make hot drinks with as the coffee machines and microwaves are now banned because of Covid. How is using a communal kettle any different to a coffee machine or microwave?!

Mrsjayy · 24/09/2020 14:29

there is no difference that is weird , when my Dd went back to work they were not allowed to use the fridge but the kettle was fine Confused it's gone back to normal now though.

movingonup20 · 24/09/2020 14:37

I did manage to buy 39 cans of chopped tomatoes. Wasn't intended, I didn't realise how many were at the back of the the very deep cupboard then I was grabbing 4 on every trip as I realised there was trouble brewing in February (I use a lot) also realised I had over 10kg of pasta. All is eaten now, I have 1kg of pasta and 5 cans tomatoes only.

MadameBlobby · 24/09/2020 14:41

Took a can of spray dettol with me into a motorway service station toilet and sprayed everything with it. I deserved the wet arse I got from the dettoled loo seat I guess

Mrsjayy · 24/09/2020 14:51

Ha Dettol bum

notanoctopus · 24/09/2020 19:30

Trying to work out how Covid makes toilet seats any more of a virus hotspot than they usually are, and coming up blank HmmGrin
Aroundtheworldin80moves · 24/09/2020 19:43

Does my 9yo and 7yo changing in the car or swimming count? We all carefully park aeay from each other for privacy....

I avoud theshort cut if picking up from school on foot, as I don't want to walk through a narrow tunnel with lots of other people. (For reference, it's about 2m tall and 1m wide)

DobbyTheHouseElk · 24/09/2020 19:46

Covid is transmitted via poo Particles as well. So it’s not that bonkers.

But I have ocd. So,that’s how I use a public bathroom anyway....if I have to.

Nomnomarrgh · 24/09/2020 19:46

I generally think if I can survive going on public transport, I’m tough enough to survive everything else. feels left out for having nothing to report

HowFastIsTooFast · 24/09/2020 20:19

But only if they get into your airways, as grim as that thought is. They're not absorbed through the skin!! Confused
DobbyTheHouseElk · 24/09/2020 20:21

Mouth or eyes.

Easier than you think.

HowFastIsTooFast · 24/09/2020 20:32

@DobbyTheHouseElk Still not sure how cleaning a public toilet seat helps?! If anything it puts your hands, that then might touch your face, at more risk of contact? I don't often touch the backs of my own thighs or my arse....

Each to their own anyway! Smile

CorianderLord · 24/09/2020 20:35

Bought 23 houseplants.

BogRollBOGOF · 24/09/2020 21:32

Panic boughta TV in mid-March.
(Bogrolls were so last February. I'm ahead of the crowd like that.)
Feb half term, last minute went to Manchester for the weekend instead of London as London seemed like the most logical transit point for the virus entering the UK.

I stand by the TV and Manchester Grin

notanoctopus · 25/09/2020 08:48

TV in lockdown is a must
