No home heating oil

I live in Belfast and any home heating oil company I've contacted have said they won't do through house deliveries but it's the only way to access my oil tank. How am I supposed to get oil?

Where is your oil tank? They should be outside.

We have a complex set up and the big oil companies won’t deliver to us. But ringing around the smaller ones we were able to find a company willing to be more flexible. That said ours is a clamber rather than having to go through the house. Is the through the house policy a legal thing I wonder. Sounds like you might need to get an engineer to install a fill point at the front of your house with a permanent pipe that runs to the boiler. Maybe get some oil heating specialists round to quote?

** sorry, meant to say permanent pipe that runs to the tank - not boiler.

Hi the tank is outside the back but the only way to access the back is to go through the house and out the back door. We rent so no chance of fitting an off set pipe. It's an old set up with the oil tank going to a green box first then the boiler.

Can the person who actually does the filling get to the tank without going through the house.
If they can would they accept it if you took the pipe through the house and handed it to them outside. You wearing suitable protection of course

If you're renting, your landlord needs to fix this and make sure you have a useable heating system.
