Scooter for an 8 year old

We've never really bothered with scooters and always opted for bikes but the bikes are too big for the car boot these days (well it's always been tricky to be fair!).

We live a few miles away from the nearest skate park but would like to take dc there every now and then. Not sure whether they would like it though as we've never bothered before. Mostly the scooters would be used for going to school and throwing in the car for days out.

I was looking at micro sprite or a razor. Micro sprite looks good for being a smooth ride and the razor looked good for stunts so can't decide. Any other recommendations or things I should consider?

Micro Sprites are fab. DD has had one since she was 5, she's now 8.5 and it's still going strong, the adjustable handle has loads of room left in it too. It also has a small adult weight limit so I can ride it home from school after morning drop off.

From what I remember, stunt scooters and normal to use on road scooters have different wheel size. You shouldn't use a normal scooter on a skate park.

My DS has a Chilli Reaper. It's 'cool' apparently.

That's what I wondered cloud! I was hoping for an all rounder as I think he would only dabble in it at the skate park. Don't really want to compromise on either the smoothness of it or the 'stunt' aspect.

Anyone know a scooter that is 90% 'normal' but could be used at a skate park once every blue moon, that doesn't cost the earth!
