Sudden SAD, a bad day or something else

I’ve literally woken up today feeling anxious and utterly fed up. I’ve gone to my desk and literally cannot get anything done (wfh).

I do get a touch of SAD I think but seems a bit early and it’s been pretty bright until today.

Work wise I had a shitty day yesterday - though not anything huge.

Has anyone else had this - just literally woken up almost unable to focus on anything with a weird sense of dread.

It’s dull and raining today means it seems it will get dark earlier. Hugs.

I feel exactly the same. A really low day, brain fog, head ache, inability to concentrate (or care). Just want to sleep.

I can't speak for you, but my SAD always seems to start pretty much when the schools go back, at the start of autumn. I've only really had it for about 8 years, but it has been consistent.

I also wake up with a feeling of dread at this time of year. I find it helps having something to eat right away as low blood sugar can make anxiety worse. Try and get out and about even if it is a bit dull, exercise if possible - but if it is too much to handle, see your GP, as it certainly shouldn't leave you unable to focus on anything else.

I should have seen my GP ages ago so I'm being a total hypocrite saying all this, but I kinda hope that others are braver than me!

@LindaEllen thank you. I’ve never seen a GO about it - and am sure I’ve suffered for years. I did get a Sad lamp last year which helped a bit but haven’t been dug it out yet.
It’s one of those things that I think has sort of crept up on me over time.
