Did your baby have a fever right after 1 year jabs?

Had a look online and it seems it’s not that likely, but just interested - my baby has the one year vaccinations this week and I was going to drop them to the childminder an hour later, as long as they are well/happy, but I just can’t face having them sent home for a raised temp and having to isolate, as we’ve just been through all that for a cough/cold.

Any feedback would be much appreciated! I am going back to work very soon so I want him to keep getting more used to the childminder if poss.

My DS did. Ended up in the hospital as it went over 40'c and he kept vomiting.

Wish I could tell you more (when it started, how long he was ill for) but I'd forgotten about it until last week when he had his pre-school jabs and they needed to know as it was the same as the 1 year jabs.

However his nursery wouldn't let him attend for the rest of the day once he had his pre-school jabs in case he did get a temp. So something for you to check with the childminder.

My son had his a couple of weeks ago. 7 days later he was really ill with it. Had a high fever, didn't eat much and had a rash for about 4 days. The nurse did warn us about it but it but its the worst reaction to any jabs he has had so far.

My daughter got a fever after her 15 month jab (not sure if that's a thing in the UK, think they're scheduled a little differently where I live.)

That was back in June and the doctor thought a little fever side-effect was likely enough that he had already given a prescription for children's paracetamol when she had the jab, because it wasn't available over the counter at that point.

I would maybe keep him home today. Better to kiss one day then 14 in isolation.

DS2 had his a couple of weeks ago. He got the fever a week later too. The nurse did tell us that this was likely. He was a bit grumpy, but it only lasted a couple of days.

Thanks for all the replies! I asked the CM and she said keep him home. I am dreading delayed fever triggering covid testing gahh
