Just wondering what other Mners have on their lists?
I've done an aerial slide over the Thames. (Wanted to since I saw Simon Groom on Blue Peter do one when I was 10!)
Been on The Ferry Cross The Mersey.
Always wanted to go on a mud slide... Have done Muddy Race For Life twice!
To do...
To go to New York
To see The Northern Lights
To do a wing walk (hopefully next year!!)

To go to a Michelin Star restaurant, and then more of them - was supposed to go earlier in the year, then lockdown happened. Hope to go to at least one before Christmas now.

To stay at a particular hotel - would out myself if I named it, so I won't! Hopefully this will happen some time next year.

To go to Maine in Autumn.

To join an am dram group or a choir, though I'm a coward, so this is unlikely.

Visited China (for the wall) wanted to do that since I was a child, New York, hot air balloon, gallop a horse on a beach and ride into the sea.

Still on the list is to see the Northern Lights, drive the NC500, visit Australia and New Zealand

Tara336 · 20/09/2020 17:53

Oh and I’ve been to Raffles and would love to stay at Burgh Island Hotel

Elderflower14 · 20/09/2020 17:53

Michelin restaurant sounds exciting!! @RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie

Just remembered another to do... Really weird.. I'm terrified of birds but I adore puffins and want to see them in the wild!

On my list:
Go on a sleeper train
See the Northern Lights
Go to an NHL ice hockey game
Try archery
Go to New Zealand

Ticked off:
Go to Rome
Holiday on a canal boat (it was fun but did knock 'live on a canal boat' off of my list Grin Couldn't live in such a small space full time!)

Strokethefurrywall · 20/09/2020 17:56

Done (amongst others):

Sky dive
Bungee
Worlds highest abseil
Travelled the world by myself
Live by the beach (still do)
Performed live on stage in NYC
Run a marathon

To do:

Record a music video (although soon complete!)
Northern lights
Christmas in a ski lodge
Write my memoir
Own a Leonberger

I'm sure there's plenty more, but these are all I have off the top of my head..

Ticked off? I would not have considered them bucket list items, but they were things that I really really wanted to do at that stage in my life,

  • Live/work in US
  • Start own business

Interestingly, neither worked out especially well (but not disasters either, just did not meet my idealized version)

MrsHamlet · 20/09/2020 18:01

Visit all of the US states was my one thing. Now I need to find a new thing :)
Actually I'd love to go on the proper sleeper trains - the Orient Express, for example. London to Aberdeen was good but not that good!!!

ChinUpChestOut · 20/09/2020 18:10

I've done:
Bergen
Visited Lapland
Hiked up a particular mountain (too outing to name)
Set up my own business (and it's going quite well Smile)
(there's been other things over the years that were on the list, and now done, but nothing recently)

Still want to do:
Stay in a tea plantation in Sri Lanka
Learn to sing
Visit Ecuador
Hike, or ride a horse across Costa Rica

These days though, it seems difficult to imagine when I'll get to travel again. At least it gives me time to save up!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 20/09/2020 18:16

Things I've done -

Rooftop bar in New York
Had a husky sleigh ride in Lapland
Bought a house on my own as a single parent

Things still to do
See the northern lights (they didn't come out for us in Lapland)
Visit Japan
Go on the orient Express
Route 66
Stay at the Shard in London

Most of mine are to do with travel unfortunately which I can't do right now!

ulanbatorismynextstop · 20/09/2020 18:39

It wasn't on my bucket list but I had a peak experience over 20 years ago. Where my consciousness ascended, I could see much clearer, hear much clearer, understand everything. I always said after that happened I'd be happy to die because the whole universe all made sense.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/09/2020 19:01

Puffins and a sleeper train both sound great.

Elderflower14 · 20/09/2020 19:18

I've travelled a lot on my own.
Done Amsterdam, Paris, Rome and Vienna... Prague is on my to do list... Ds2 wants to go to Amsterdam to see the windmills and the cat cafe so will be returning to tick that off his bucket list... I have a passion in educating ds2 about both World Wars (he's named after a Ww1 poet) I'm going to take him to Anne Frank's Museum too.

Done:
Sleeper train - totally awesome and the best way to travel
Wine tasting in Tuscany
Fly in a helicopter (done twice I loved it so much - saw the Grand Canyon)
Sleep out under the stars - no tent, just a bivvy bag
Ride a camel in the desert

To do:
See the Northern Lights - we were unlucky in Iceland and didn't see them
Ride a snowmobile
Fly first class
See Eurovision live
Afternoon tea at The Ritz
Sleep in an ice hotel
African safari

Elderflower14 · 20/09/2020 20:02

One the back of this thread I've looked at taking ds2 on the Caledonian Sleeper next year!
