If you have autism ...

Can you tell me how you feel about the diagnosis?

My ds has asd and seems a little resistant to understanding or absorbing his diagnosis. I feel that as a neurotypical my expectations of how he might think and feel about being autistic might be clouding my judgement and I’m probably approaching it the wrong way.

I’d really appreciate hearing what you think about autism, and how you feel about it. Tia

I'm autistic and most people in my family are too. I find it a helpful lens to understand myself through, particularly when my sensory experiences (for example) can be very different to neurotypical people.
