Trying to lose belly fat!

I've recently lost a significant amount of weight and although it's come off my arms, legs, face, neck, top half, my belly and hips are still huge! I'm exercising and eating correctly and still losing weight but just wondered if anyone else had lost weight like this and can alleviate my fears that this belly weight will be stuck with me forever! I don't expect a flat stomach but just want to get rid of the rubber ring!!

Eat less calories for fat loss. Make sure your macros are split to include less carbs and fats. And more protein. That way you will maintain muscle mass while losing fat to give you that lean look

Trust the process eventually you will lose it if you stick to your work out routine and diet plan

I've lost 6 stone in less than a year so I must be doing something right but my belly still looks like Mr Greedy!

@MrsBlobby43 place marking. Well done on your 6 stone lost. I’ve lost a stone and I think it’s all from my chest. Went swimming yesterday in a costume I haven’t worn for ages. My boobs fell out while I did a front crawl. Thank goodness for social distancing - don’t think anyone saw.

I think for a lot of women who carry their weight around their middle (myself included) it’s the last place to finally leave. Are you happy with your weight/bmi now? Or do you still have more to go?

growinggreyer · 19/09/2020 14:04

Are you doing any core workouts? It does help to pull in the stretched out muscles which gives you a slimmer shape even though the fat is still there. It's a gradual process, though. Don't give up hope. Vaccuum twists are brutal but you can feel them working!

We all carry weight in different places and you can't spot reduce fat but if you lose weight overall then this should include losing weight on your middle too.

While you can't spot reduce fat, strengthening the core so the muscles natually hold in better and reducing bloating with sugary foods or any other triggers can make a noticable difference.

I've still got about 3 stone to go so hopefully that's where the 3 stone is! I think I need to up my exercise routines. What's the best type of exercise for that area?
