Or would it be different if it’s classed as a second home ?

Partly. It is classed as a second home, but landlords and second-homers still qualify get for the 'stamp duty holiday' up to £500k.

You do have to also pay the 3% second home stamp duty premium though.

So a good reduction but not a complete exemption.

When does the stamp duty holiday end? www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-53319433

Oh ok thanks, so I’ve just been on this caluclator thjng and it says on a 250k place it’s would be about 10k stamp duty
So normally or when this holiday ends how much would it be then ?

The stamp duty holiday is until March next year, so at the moment you would pay 3%, ie , £7.5k stamp duty on a £250k purchase.

I think it would be 5%, ie £12.5k without the scheme.
