Cows milk allergy

Has anyone heard of a baby having a cows milk allergy when drinking/eating dairy directly but is totally fine when breastfeeding from a dairy-loving mum?!
Weaning DS (7 months at the moment). I previously tried a couple of bottles of formula (80/20 expressed milk and formula) and he projectile vomited every time. Spoke to GP who advised possible milk allergy and to stick to BF for now but slowly introduce dairy into his weaning diet. I mixed in a tiny amount of cows milk into his porridge earlier and lo and behold, 2hrs later he has vomited.
I eat loads of dairy and he’s always thrived on my milk. Can it be possible to have such an adverse reaction when having it himself but nothing via my milk?
Dr’s advice is now to wait 3-4 weeks and try again. If symptoms are the same then he’ll get a referral to the allergy dept at the hospital.
