Soft play / ball pit set

My little boy will be almost 8 months at Christmas so of course I'm already thinking of presents for my PFB Grin.
Really don't plan to go overboard at all as I'm aware it will be pretty meaningless to him, but I keep seeing those soft play / ball pits sets and would consider getting one if I thought he would get a few years use out of it.
Would anyone recommend one (or advise against!)?

Image of what I mean.
(I would buy one that was colourful!)

Realistically, I would imagine your LO will outgrow that relatively quickly, but I can imagine it would be much lived for a good few months/ until 2-ish.

If you are really thinking about long-lasting toys, perhaps a swing that converts from a baby one to a child one. DS1 has one for his first birthday and currently uses it daily. He is nearly 8.

I’ve just bought that soft play block set for my little girl and her 5 year old and 7 year old siblings are loving it too! It’s a good size, it was the tallest one I saw.

My 4 year old loves his, and nephews/nieces ages from 1-8 love it too! Definitely buy it but be prepared to pick up 8 million plastic balls for the rest of your life Grin

At DDs 15th birthday, I had 10 teenagers chasing round the garden having a ball fight with the ball pool balls, so I'd say fairly long lasting here. Grin

When they were small we had the balls in the travel cot/playpen, later an inflatable paddling pool. Needed to be something we could easily put away when not in use. It was a great rainy day toy, but they quickly got bored with it and would just throw the balls around if left out for much longer.

ball pools are annoying with the mess!

Ooooh I wasn't expecting positive replies tbh! I'm excited to get it for him now Smile

@Equimum I love the idea of the swing! Is there a particular one you would recommend?

@AbsoolutelyKnott Haha! I can imagine them everywhere already! Grin

We have one but we have 3 toddlers. They do play with it and it's great for having friends round too.

We got the stairs and slide in the picture for my 1yr olds first birthday, he loves it, we've had it 6mths and he plays on it every day, we move it between the living room and garden. One of the best toys we've bought him

@BlueBobs that's great to hear! Where did you buy yours from? There are so many online it's hard to know which to go for!
